Matthew Name, facing towards the big muddy with Jackson Square in the background, New Orleans

I started my career in technology when I lived in New York City. It was during the dot com craze of the late 90s. I worked as a network administrator and technology support and then a web developer as well as a project manager for many years in IT. I was part of a startup that was purchased by Cisco Systems. I have since worked and lived in Las Vegas, Provincetown, and now New Orleans.

I loved working with entrepreneurs and small business people. I found providing technical solutions for people who are shaping the future in their fields to be exciting and rewarding.

Today my passion is primary care, health systems delivery methods, education, and the intersection of social sciences and social equity in the outcomes of health disparities. I’ve completed my Bachelors of Science in Public Health from Tulane University, as well as attending Paul Farmers course, Health, Culture, Community: Case Studies in Global Health. I’m passionate in the development of health delivery system designs which can serve those afflicted with chronic disease in resource poor settings.
